A look inside PANA Organic Botanicals @ Needle Rock

At Panacea Life Sciences, we are firm believers in being open and transparent with our customers. Part of that is sharing in our processes, how we make those fantastic cannabidiol (CBD) products that you love. So, we wanted to show you a bit about where we get our hemp, our very own PANA Organic Botanicals @ Needle Rock.

About our farm

Located in the western part of beautiful Colorado, our farm is in the perfect spot. 6,500 feet above sea level, the farm gets all of the sunshine it could need. This helps keep things natural, along with the Rocky Mountain spring water that keeps our hemp plants hydrated. This water is clear and is from natural springs and mountain snow runoff. The fertilizer we use is made from natural compost and chicken and cow leavings, so that it is rich in nitrogen, but does not require any harsh chemicals. Like any good organic farm, we release ladybugs into our fields to help keep down harmful insects. This way the ladybugs eat the insects that will damage the hemp crop and we do not have to use insecticides with harmful chemicals.

All of our farming is deeply based with in science. We use this base to help keep our hemp 100% organic, providing you with the best phytocannabinoids out there. We never use any chemical-based pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. The soil our plants grow in and the water that is used to keep it healthy is all tested by the high-tech labs at Colorado State University so that we know what is going into our plants. In fact, we monitor just about every aspect of our plants’ growth, including the irrigation, the nutrient uptake, and the root growth. On top of that, we are also sure to keep track of the CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of the plants to be sure that what we grow is not only great, but also legal.

About our products

After our organic hemp plants have reached their peak, the flowers are harvested to be made into our CBD extract. First, we break it down into what is known as “crude oil.” This is essentially extracting the oil out of the plant before we can distill it further. Then using our specialized equipment, we distill the oil so that we have an oil that is the color and consistency of honey that is rich in cannabinoids.  After that, the extract is either distilled further to make an isolate, the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) removed to create broad spectrum extract, or we move on to making our high-quality products. This is all done in our facility in Golden, Colorado so that we can follow it every step of the way and be sure of its quality. You can read more about our process on our Seed to Sale page.
