Frequently Asked Questions

Panacea Life Sciences was formed to own, formulate and manufacture disruptive healthcare solutions with a specific focus on hemp, cannabidiol (“CBD”) and cannabinoids. Cannabidiol, or CBD, is the second most prominent compound in cannabis. The cannabis plant contains at least 113 different cannabinoids, each with potential unique pharmacological properties, with new cannabinoids still being discovered. The most well-known cannabinoid is Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC); a compound in the cannabis plant that is used to get “high”. Unlike THC, CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that does not play a role in getting someone “high”. Rather, CBD has been found to alleviate a wide range of chronic pain and diseases. The U.S. Government filed and secured Patent 6,630,507 declaring that cannabis provides significant medicinal value: Cannabinoids are useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. Panacea currently offers three types of products: sublingual, soft gels and a salve product.

The below questions are organized in the following categories: about the company, CBD definitions, what is special about our products and sales related questions.

What does your logo represent?

    Panacea Life Labs Logo

When deciding on our logo, we wanted simple imagery that depicted our mission: to bring medical quality hemp oil to patients in need. Our new logo reflects this message through several symbols. In the center, the Panacea goddess is represented entwined with a Caduceus, a symbol representing modern medicine in the United States. The medical symbol is laid over a plant motif representing life as well as our commitment to providing natural plant extracts.

In Greek Mythology, Panacea was a goddess of universal remedy. Panacea was said to have a potion with which she helped the sick. This brought about the concept of the panacea in medicine.

The tree symbolizes the “breathe of life” and healing aspects. We believe these three symbols reflect the potential of natural oils derived from the hemp plant to provide relief for several human conditions or as a panacea.

Are HEMP based CBD products legal?

Based on the opinion letter from our legal counsel (Hoban Law Group), Panacea Life Sciences is manufactured in Colorado and is able sell and distribute our products derived from industrial hemp to all 50 states based on the Agricultural Act of 2014 (the Farm Bill) and the Industrial Hemp Regulatory Program C.R.S. 35-61-101. Note that different states will have specific regulations on hemp/cannabis laws. We encourage you to research state specific rules. One site that we use to help is

An increasing number of international organizations that oversee drug testing are removing CBD from the banned substance list. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which governs drug testing in the Olympics and sets the standard for anti-doping guidelines in many sports leagues has removed CBD from its list of banned substances. Starting next year, the United States Anti-Doping Agency will allow CBD to be used from natural sources while still banning synthetic cannabis and cannabis products rich in THC.

What is the difference of CBD from hemp vs CBD from marijuana?

The short answer is that there is no difference in CBD derived from hemp or marijuana.

However, to fully understand potential product differences, the source of the CBD should be considered. Hemp and marijuana are different versions of the Cannabis Sativa L. plant.

Hemp is a cannabis plant that is harvested commercially for its seeds and stalks. Its seeds and stalks are used to produce a number of products: including food, nutritional supplements, medicine, body care products, paper, textiles, building materials, plastic composites, and even biofuels. Because it thrives under natural conditions, hemp is typically grown outside. The hemp plant grows sturdy and tall, up to 2 to 4 meters in height, without the need for herbicides or pesticides. For cannabis to be legally considered hemp, it must contain no more than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per dry weight. The level of THC in hemp is 33 times less than the least potent marijuana strains, so it’s impossible for hemp for a user to get “high.”

Marijuana is a cannabis plant that is most frequently harvested for its euphoric, psychoactive properties, which are responsible for making users feel high or stoned. The fibers and stalks of marijuana are not used commercially. Instead, the marijuana plant is cultivated specifically for its flowers, which contain the highest levels of THC in the plant. Marijuana plants typically are bushier and plant strains are selected with a high number of flower, or buds, per plant. In contrast, industrial hemp is typically a taller plant. Through selective breeding, varieties or strains of marijuana can contain THC concentrations that usually range from 10 percent to 30 percent, or even higher. Marijuana is naturally lower in CBD than THC.

Unlike marijuana, hemp is naturally higher in cannabidiol (CBD), one of over 85 cannabinoids that have so far been identified in the cannabis plant. CBD is non-psychoactive and therefore won’t cause a high, making it safe for use by anyone, regardless of age.

What is full spectrum Hemp Oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD), which is found in highly concentrated amounts in our products, but there are actually dozens of cannabinoids found in hemp, which have shown many benefits in studies. We choose to make all our products with full-spectrum hemp oil, which includes all of the cannabinoids found in the plant, so you don’t miss out on any of the benefits.

In addition to the dozens of cannabinoids, hemp oil is a great source of essential vitamins, minerals, Omega fatty acids, flavonoids, chlorophyll and terpenes.

On a molecular level, all classes of cannabinoid are derived from the cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG). Cannabinoids are changed from their original acid forms by decarboxylation through heat, light, or alkaline conditions, allowing them to interact fully with the endocannabinoid system.

Why should I choose your products over others in the market?

  1. Our objective is to address inconsistencies in dosing by providing consumers with extremely consistent, high quality, pharmaceutical grade products. We grow carefully curated strains, infuse, formulate, produce, and package products on site to strictly control the production process
  2. Our products contain all natural organic hemp sourced from selected farmers in Colorado. Our partners grow the hemp with no pesticides or fertilizers. The plants are hand-picked for our extraction process.
  3. Once the oil is extracted from the hemp plant, we formulate the resulting oil into unique formulations that provide the highest bioavailability compared to other companies.
  4. All of our products are manufactured in the USA using Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) which ensures that Panacea products will consistently contain the needed hemp oil in every dose for maximal effects.

What are the medical dosing parameters?

Our products are unique, as they are extremely safe. The safety ratio, determined as a ratio of when a patient experiences adverse effects compared to beneficial effects, is greater than 1,000-fold. Although we recommend dosing in a range of 0.4 mg/kg/day to 2 mg/kg/day, a person’s body weight and degree of pain will influence the amount of material needed to be taken to experience positive effects. Two per day, one in the morning and one in the evening is average. The patient should experiment and decide what works for them and their condition.   To make the product more effective, an ingestion of up to 8 35mg caplets per day can be recommended. Then the user should reduce to dosage to maintain health benefits as needed.

What are the main differences between the FAST and DAILY products?

  • Softgels

    Panacea DAILY Softgels

The primary difference is the FAST sublingual dissolves quickly and has more immediate effects, while the DAILY product is a soft gel that provides sustained relief. Also, we have the ability to put higher dosages of hemp oil in the soft gel due to how it is formulated.

Why are your capsules 35mg verses other companies that offer 25mg?

Our preclinical and human anecdotal studies have shown that 35mg is a minimum amount to provide relief.

Where do you get your hemp from?

Our hemp is procured from selected organic growers in Colorado. The plants are handpicked for our extraction process. We also only procure the flower from the female plants are they are richer in oil. Questions to our growers help ensure the highest possible quality of product.

Why are your products medical grade?

Each step our process of sourcing plant material, to processing and manufacturing, is quality controlled to the same degree as a pharmaceutical drug. Thus, when your patients buy our product they can be assured each dose contains the described specific amount of hemp oil. Additionally, our formulations and delivery systems provide the highest bioavailability possible.

Do you have anything in writing proving what you have in your capsules?

Yes. Each batch is extensively tested to ensure the amount of hemp oil is consistent in each dose as measured by CBD and THC content. Our manufacture process ensures that there are no residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides or fertilizers in the product. We can supply these test results upon request.

Please note that the formulation of the products is a trade secret.

How do I get samples?

  • null

One our most common questions! We currently provide small sample packs and we also provide larger sample packs that contain both products. However, please note the dosing answer above, as the sample packets may not be sufficient for all patients; thus, buying a bottle is recommended. We are working on providing a smaller count to help patients explore the product at a lower price point.

Can I white label the products? - the specific details, costs, orders, etc.

Yes, please let us know how many you would like to purchase. There are two options for the white labels: 1) we can provide you with the bottles with our minimum requirements on the label and then the doctor can add a label, or 2) PLS can design a new label for the doctor and get it printed.

The cost for option 2 is the white labeling one-time fee of $0.20 per bottle for the first order and thereafter 0.12 per bottle.

What are the clinical trials?

Panacea Life Sciences is preliminarily engaged with a few universities and foundations to plan for future clinical trials. The trials will be used to further refine dosing for indications as well as optimization of various components of the hemp plant for treatment of disease.
