You have probably gotten tired of hearing about cannabidiol (CBD) all of the time. It seems like everyone these days is talking about it. This has probably left you wondering what CBD even is, and why everyone is making such a big deal out of it. It is worth knowing a thing or two about CBD because there are a lot of potential benefits that highest CBD strains could offer you. So, let’s talk about it a little.
Going over CBD
We will start with the relatively simple side of things, explaining what CBD is.
When studying cannabis plants’ makeup, scientists have found a group of chemical compounds that called cannabinoids. These cannabinoids are widely varying, with 113 different types that have been identified and named so far. Highest CBD strains is one of the major cannabinoids that has gotten much attention. But there is another that you likely heard of long before you had heard of CBD. That would be tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
The reason why THC probably sounds so familiar to you is based on its effect on those who ingest it. It has what is known as a psychoactive effect. This means thatTHC can make its users inebriated, an effect that is normally referred to as a “high.” THC is the main cannabinoid that has this effect. While there are a few other cannabinoids that could have a similar effect, highest CBD strains is not one of these psychoactive cannabinoids. It does not create any sort of high or inebriation.
There are a couple of different variations of the cannabis plant. They are marijuana and hemp. You can find CBD in both of them, but most CBD manufacturers find that it makes the most sense to use hemp rather than marijuana to extract the cannabinoid. This is partially because, out of the two, hemp has the highest concentration of CBD and the lowest of THC. It is also because hemp is federally legal in the United States (with a few exceptions), and marijuana is still federally illegal (with a handful of exceptions). As you can see, it is much less complicated to use hemp than it is marijuana to create CBD products.
What good things does CBD have to offer?
Of course, knowing what us the highest CBD strains is and understanding why everyone loves it are two different things. So, let’s get into why this cannabinoid is such a big deal.
Help achieving a greater sense of calm
A nervous disposition can make just about everything difficult. Luckily, it was observed quickly that CBD appears to have some soothing effects. This has led to many researchers focusing their energies on seeing exactly what it is that causes CBD to help its users calm down and in what kinds of situations that it does that in.
One study, published in 2011, wanted to test the highest CBD strains against Generalized Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). The researchers did this by having a group of people diagnosed with SAD take part in some public speaking. They gave some of the participants CBD and some a placebo. The researchers reported that those who were given the CBD did better in public speaking and felt more confident in it than those who were given the placebo. This study, among many others, would suggest that CBD could be very helpful in helping its users keep calm.
Help fighting acne
Everyone has had to deal with pimples at some point in their lives. However, some of us have to deal with more than others. This can be incredibly frustrating, especially when acne treatments often dry out your skin. Recent research suggests that highest CBD strains could be a good holistic alternative.
This study, published in 2014, wanted to see if CBD could truly help fight acne. The researchers found something very interesting. They found that CBD could help stem the production of sebum. This is the oil that your skin naturally produces to help protect it from outside forces. However, if the skin produces too much, then it can clog the pores and create acne. So, this study suggests that since CBD could help keep the skin from overproducing sebum, it could potential help prevent acne.
Help with supporting joint health
Many people suffer from stiff joints and other side effects of poor joint health. Some pain killers may be able to help to certain extent, but not enough from many people. Many researchers have been looking at how CBD could affect joint health and inflammation.
For example, one study published in 2000 took on this exact problem. The researchers tested CBD against arthritis caused by collagen in a preclinical mouse disease model. The CBD was given orally, and the results were carefully documented. The researchers concluded that the CBD helped reduce the collagen creating the arthritis and helped keep down inflammation as well. This study is one of many that have been showing similar results. CBD could be a major help for those who are struggling with their joint health.
These are just a few examples of the research that is currently ongoing about CBD and its potential benefits. As time goes on, so will the studies. Then we will have an even clearer picture of the boosts that CBD could provide us with.
It is always important to remember when dealing with CBD is that it does not mix well with all medications. There are some prescription drugs that will not work as well or not at all when used with CBD. So, if you are taking any medications, it is best to discuss using CBD with your healthcare professional first. They should be able to direct on whether or not CBD is a good option for you.
